UPDATE Woman dies from injuries after serious assault
The victim was an employee of the Christian Science Reading Centre.
A woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious assault in downtown Ottawa Thursday has died in hospital.
Police say it happened at 141 Laurier Ave. West at the Christian Science Reading Centre.
The victim is a 59-year-old Elisabeth Salm. Police say she was a long-time employee and librarian at the Christian Science Reading Centre.
Police have the office cordoned off.
A forensics unit was on scene Thursday night.
The Major Crime unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
