As last minute shoppers made their way around town on Christmas Eve they were met with plenty of snow.
Environment Canada called for between 2 and 4cm of snow for Saturday mixed with freezing rain.
The messy weather caused a few fender benders around town, including a small crash on the 417 eastbound near Bronson.
The snow and rain was expected to clear up in the afternoon as it warms up to a high of plus 4 degrees.
Meteorologist Mitch Meredith explained that Santa's ride should be nice and clear.
"I think that it won't be that foggy this evening, as we are expecting clear skies and the cold temperatures to come in," Meredith said. "And that will hopefully make Santa's journey happen very quickly."
Christmas Day should be mostly sunny but cold with a high of minus 5 degree.
Travel on Boxing Day could get a little messy.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement calling for a possible winter storm on Monday.
There could be periods of snow and freezing rain throughout the day but it will be warm.
