An Ottawa Police task force on gang-related killings is renewing a call for tips from several homicide investigations, saying they are connected.
They include the Leslie Mwakio and Abdi Jama homicides from late last year.
Mwakio was shot in a silver Jeep Patriot at Bayswater and Laurel last December while Jama was killed when police say multiple guns were discharged in front of the Suya Spot on Shillington.
There are also calls for tips in the shooting deaths of Eric Vongviset on Charleston in November of 2011 and Mohamed "Casper" Ali at Bar 56 in May of 2009.
Finally, police make note of the shooting in a Byward Market nightclub last August which killed Omar Rashid-Ghader.
There is a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of Mustafa "Heff" Ahmed, who is believed to have fled to Toronto.
