Ontario Provincial Police say a 57-year-old officer is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act after being involved in a collision while on duty.
OPP say the officer was driving a marked cruiser, with lights flashing, northbound on County Road 29, in the Leeds-Grenville area, when, at around 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, he was involved in a crash with a northbound SUV.
Police say the officer had been trying to make a U-turn at the time of the crash.
The 17-year-old girl driving the SUV and her passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The officer was also treated for minor injuries.
OPP say Constable Vince Tremblay – a 25-year veteran of the force – is charged with making an unsafe turn.
