The Ontario government is investing a million dollars into upgrades for the Blackburn Arena.
MPP Marie-France Lalonde announced the funding today to aid the 3.7-million dollar renovation project.
The arena will see a total expansion of 6,700 square feet which will include a new multipurpose space, updated dressing rooms, and an enlarged main lobby.
A shared space for recreational and cultural events will also be added.
The project is looking to build a more inclusive community by engaging seniors, veterans, and youth by bringing people together to improve health and well-being.
