Ottawa Police tactical officers and K-9 units were seen walking up and down the streets of Stittsville Tuesday night for several hours, investigating what police are calling a "public safety concern."
The call came in around 5:30 p.m. Police arrived on scene in the Stittsville Main and Elm Crescent area, with the investigation stretching west to Elm and Cypress Gardens. Ottawa Paramedics were also called to the scene.
Several surrounding roads were blocked off. Residents in the area tell CFRA that officers with rifles could be seen walking the streets.
The investigation came to a close around 8:30 p.m. with one man taken into custody. Police say charges are pending.
No one has been reported hurt.
