A man in his 40s is dead after an overnight apartment fire in Hintonburg.
Ottawa Fire says crews were called to Wellington West near Sherbrooke just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
The found the victim inside a unit with serious injuries. He was placed in paramedic care and later died in hospital.
The fire was put out in about an hour and is not being investigated as suspicious.
Elsewhere, a 30-year-old man suffered burns to 20 per cent of his body after a second fire at Carling east of Moodie.
Ottawa Fire says the man called 911 reporting his home was on fire and that he was trapped inside at around 2:15 a.m. He had escaped by the time firefighters arrived and was taken to hospital.
Firefighters contained and put out the fire shortly after their arrival.
