Ottawa Fire officials say a family escaped with non-critical injuries in a two-alarm house fire in the Pineglen area early Sunday morning.
Just before midnight, Ottawa Fire crews say they received a call from a young man saying his house was on fire and his parents were still inside.
He managed to escape the blaze by climbing on to the roof of the home.
When firefighters got to the scene, they declared a second-alarm fire, and conducted a search to make sure all occupants had escaped safely.
They managed to bring the fire under control just before 1:00 a.m.
A fire investigator is now working to determine the cause of the blaze.
There's no word yet on the cost of the damages.
