Nathalie DesRosiers has been chosen to run for the Ontario Liberal Party in an upcoming Ottawa-Vanier byelection.
DesRosiers, a lawyer and dean and professor with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, was selected as the party’s candidate Saturday afternoon.
The Ontario PC Party previously announced former Ontario Ombudsman Andre Marin would be its candidate in the riding left vacant when Liberal MPP and Attorney General Madeleine Meilleur stepped down in June after more than 20 years in the riding.
“I am honored to accept the nomination,” DesRosiers wrote on Twitter Saturday afternoon. “I’m ready to take on Patrick Brown and the Conservatives.”
A date for the byelection has not been set.
