Credit cards, a laptop loaded with music, and the ashes of a loved one.
Those are some of the items police say were stolen during a string of break-and-enters in Vanier earlier this year.
Ottawa Police say several businesses, a church, and a funeral home were targeted during the spree in January.
Among the items taken were three keepsake pendants containing a deceased person’s ashes as well as a laptop with more than 700 songs and even some recorded sermons going as far back as 2011.
These items remain missing and police are asking anyone who may have information to contact the Central Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4533.
Some credit cards were also taken, and police allege they were later used to make purchases.
Steve Gerovac, 43, is facing charges of breaking and entering and two counts of using a stolen credit card.
Gerovac will appear in court April 9.
