The OPP say the "iTunes Scam" has surfaced again in our region.
Police say one version sees scammers calling people, pretending they're from the Canada Revenue Agency and threatening legal action over unpaid income taxes unless the victim purchases iTunes cards and provides the redemption codes.
In another version, the caller pretends to be a grandchild in need of financial assistance due to an injury or legal trouble.
Again, the fraudsters tell the victims they can help by purchasing iTunes cards.
Investigators say if you've been contacted by these people, you should call your local police department.
