The death of a 77-year old man while at work at a quarry in Prescott has sparked an inquest.
Clifford “Raymond” Lloyd died in hospital after the dragline excavator he was operating tipped and became submerged in the pond at the quarry July 17, 2017.
In a statement Monday, the province said the inquest "will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Lloyd's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths."
Dr. Bob Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Claudette Breault will be counsel to the coroner. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
