Officials say 28 patients had to be evacuated - 13 of them from the Intensive Care Unit - after a water pipe broke on the 5th floor of the Hull Hospital Thursday morning.
The pipe fractured in the east wing of the hospital, and the water has caused extensive damage to that floor and the four floors below.
Hospital officials say they managed to relocate all patients affected to different parts of the facility.
They're hoping to return some patients to their rooms within 24 hours, but have no timeframe yet for the return of the 13 patients to ICU.
Elective and minor surgery at the hospital has been rescheduled.
