Four people have been charged as Ottawa Police investigate a series of robberies at marijuana dispensaries in the city.
The arrests involve three incidents: November 5 on Iber Road, November 11 on Gladstone and November 16 on Antares.
The robbery unit says the suspects were taken into custody after a vehicle was pulled over in the area of Bank and Heron on Wednesday.
Officers describe two people attempting to flee before being chased down. One - tracked by the canine unit - suffered a minor injury.
The next day, a follow-up search turned up a loaded handgun.
22-year-old Steven Constant of Ottawa, 23-year-old Dieudonne Ngondimwiki of Gatineau, 22-year-old Cheslie Pharel of Vars and 25-year-old Immanuel Toussaint face 16 charges combined, and more are expected.
