Ottawa will have a cold end to the week with lower than normal temperatures.
Environment Canada's Geoff Coulson said Thursday's high is expected to be -14 degrees, but Friday will dawn very cold.
"Wake up temperatures on Friday morning could be around -26, and that's not the windchill, that's just the temperature, much colder than our normal low for this time of year which is -11," said Coulson.
Temperatures will moderate for the weekend, but not before a storms hits the area Friday night.
The storm will continue into Saturday, slowing driving conditions much like Monday.
Coulson said Monday's snowfall is expected to dwindle into the evening hours.
