Canterbury highrise fire sends one to hospital

A 55-year-old man was transported to hospital after a highrise fire at 830 Canterbury Avenue.

Smoke was seen coming from a second floor unit when crews arrived at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within minutes.

The occupant was taken to the general hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
