After being arrested in Pyeongchang earlier this morning, a Canadian athlete is asking for forgiveness.
Ski cross racer David Duncan, his wife, and his manager were all arrested around 2:00am by South Korean police for drunk driving.
Reports says the trio stole an idling Hummer and the manager drove it to the Athlete's Village.
The driver was reported to have had a blood alcohol level of 0.160. The legal limit in South Korea is 0.05.
Duncan and his wife have issued a statement saying: "We are deeply sorry. We engaged in behaviour that demonstrated poor judgement and was not up to the standards expected of us as Members of the Canadian Olympic Team or as Canadians."
Duncan's manager has also put out a statement saying, "I would like to apologize profusely for my inexcusable actions. Words are not enough to express how sorry I am. I have let my teammates, friends and my family down. I would also like to apologize to the owner of the vehicle that was involved."
A statement from the Canadian Olympic Committee has said they are deeply disappointed in the group, but did not mention any disciplinary actions.
The trio has since been released from police custody.
