After a two day break, the city is bracing for another cold snap.
Environment Canada issued an Extreme Cold Warning for much of southern and eastern Ontario on Thursday morning.
Over the next few days it will be very windy and wind chills are expected to be in the minus 35 to 40 range.
The extreme cold puts everyone at risk and because of that, Ottawa Public Health issued a Frostbite Warning.
OPH said they want people to take precautions before heading outside, dress in layers and cover up all exposed skin.
During cold weather events, shelters across the city add spots for people to sleep to keep them out of the cold and the Salvation Army Outreach team is out 24 hours a day checking in on the city's most vulnerable.
The frigid temperatures are expected to stick around until Sunday morning.
