Ottawa Police say a 20-year-old man is facing sexual assault charges after officers investigated allegations made by a 14-year-old girl.
Police were told last September that the victim had been contacted by a male on social media. The two became friends, and police say the girl was subsequently sexually assaulted.
Ottawa Police arrested Brendon Wayne Spurrell on Wednesday.
Spurrell is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and child luring.
Police allege the suspect has used aliases such as Eric Galloway and Zane O'Connor, and officers are concerned there may be other victims.
Spurrell will be in court on Thursday.
