Fatal Townhouse Fire in West End

A man has died in a townhouse fire in the west end of the city.
Fire crews responded just after midnight to 2949 Penny Drive near the Bayshore Shopping Center.
The fire gutted the home and spread to the roof of an adjacent unit.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and two other occupants got out safely.
The age and identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
Ottawa fire say it appears the blaze started on the second floor but that still needs to be confirmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
