Yahoo Jumps on Twitter Bandwagon

Yahoo is hoping to lure back some of its users by adding tweets to its search engine results.

On Thursday, Yahoo started mining the short messages posted on Twitter for fresher information about hot topics.

It’s not the first Internet company to add Twitter to its repertoire. Microsoft has already implemented a similar move. Internet giant Google also plans to include the chatter from twitter in its search results, but has yet to say when it will do so.

The inclusion of Twitter comes at a pivotal time for Yahoo, which has been bogged down in a three-year financial slump. The company has been loosing ground steadily to both Google and Microsoft.
