Fleury Plans to File Charges against Ex-coach

Former NHL forward Theo Fleury says he wants to press charges against Graham James, who he alleges sexually assaulted him as a teenager.

The ex-Calgary Flames player says he’s hired an attorney to advise him on the case. But Fleury’s publicity company is cautioning that its still early in the process.

Fleury caused a sensation when he claimed to have been abused by his former junior hockey coach in his autobiography. He alleges that the abuse started when he was 14 years old in Winnipeg.

In 1997, James was convicted of more than 350 incidents of sexual abuse involving Sheldon Kennedy and another player on the Swift Current hockey team.

James has not commented publicly on Fleury's charges against him.
