A group representing Canadian airline pilots wants the federal government to revise regulations governing the amount of hours they can work in a day.
Canadian regulations currently allow a crew to be on duty for 14 hours in a 24-hour span.
But the pilots say those rules don't take into account various situations which they say leave them exhausted.
These include such things as irregular start times, and routes that cross several times zones.
Federal official say the current regulations are adequate, despite a request by the United Nations agency that sets global aviation standards, asking countries to make changes.
