Should there be an independent investigation of claims by Canadian Diplomat Richard Colvin that he told officials at Foreign Affairs and at least one General at National Defence about detainee torture in Afghanistan, but was told to stop talking and writing about it?

1. No. The Commonds Committee has the names of people who were supposedly told. Subpoena them to testify under oath.
2. Yes. If there has been a cover up an independent investigation is the only way to uncover it.
