It’s being called the biggest white collar crime fraud in Canadian history.
Former Norbourg boss Vincent Lacroix has been sentenced to 13 years for defrauding over 9,000 clients of more than $100 million. The scam cost many people their life-savings.
Lacroix surprised everyone last month when he pleaded guilty to 200 fraud-related charges.
The Crown had been seeking the maximum sentence of 14 years in prison, but a lawyer for Lacroix was pushing for between 10 and 12 years.
