Canada’s annual inflation jumped above zero for the first time in five months in October.
Statistics Canada says the increase was mainly due to lower gasoline prices, which fell 13.1 per cent in October compared to that same month in 2008.
If energy prices were excluded, StatsCan say the annual inflation rate in October would have been 1.4 per cent.
Six out of 10 provinces had a positive inflation rate in October. Only Saskatchewan had positive inflation in September.
